Terms & Conditions

Simple rules for using WeMetOnce safely and respectfully

Last updated: August 2026. These terms should be reviewed with qualified legal counsel before commercial launch in all intended jurisdictions.

1. Acceptance

By creating or using a WeMetOnce account, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What WeMetOnce Does

WeMetOnce is a consent-based reconnection service intended to help people find friends, classmates, relatives, neighbors, colleagues and other meaningful connections from their past. We do not guarantee that a person will be found, that a profile belongs to the person described, or that another member will respond.

3. Eligibility and Account Responsibility

You must meet the minimum age required by applicable law and provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not impersonate another person, create misleading identities, or use another person's account. Keep your credentials secure and notify us of suspected unauthorized access.

4. Google Sign-In

You may be able to authenticate using Google. When you choose Google Sign-In, authentication is handled through Google's and our authentication providers' systems. Your use of Google is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies. You must not use another person's Google account to access WeMetOnce.

5. User Content

You retain your rights in content you submit, subject to the rights needed for WeMetOnce to operate the service. You grant WeMetOnce a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display and technically process your content as necessary to provide the service, subject to your privacy settings and applicable law.

6. Privacy and Visibility

You are responsible for choosing appropriate privacy settings. Where available, profile information can be limited to public viewers, members, connections or only you. If you intentionally make content shareable, people who can access it may copy or share it. No online service can guarantee that information viewed by another person will never be reproduced.

7. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Do not use WeMetOnce for harassment, stalking, threats, abuse, scams, spam, impersonation, doxxing, non-consensual exposure of personal information, illegal activity, sexual exploitation, or content that infringes another person's rights. Do not upload private contact details or sensitive identifiers belonging to another person without a lawful basis and appropriate permission.

8. Connections, Messaging, Blocking and Disconnecting

Connections are intended to require consent. A user may disconnect, block or report another user. Disconnecting ends the connection-only ability to continue sending new messages between the users, while existing chat history may remain until a user chooses an available deletion option or the platform's retention rules remove it.

9. Reports and Moderation

Users can report members or content and provide an explanation of what happened. We may review reports and may restrict, remove or disable content or accounts when we reasonably believe they violate these Terms, Community Guidelines, applicable law or platform safety requirements. We may preserve relevant records for safety, security and legal purposes.

10. Third-Party Services

We use third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate parts of the platform, including hosting, authentication, communications and other technical services. Their services may have separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

11. Advertising and Commercial Services

We may display advertising or other commercial content to support the service. Advertising may be provided by third parties. Ads will be implemented subject to applicable advertising, privacy and consent requirements. We do not guarantee that any particular advertisement will be available or appropriate for every user.

12. Intellectual Property

WeMetOnce branding, software, interface and original platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, resell or exploit the service except as permitted by law or with written permission.

13. Service Availability

We work to keep WeMetOnce available and secure, but the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, outages or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

14. Safety and No Guarantee of Reconnection

Use reasonable caution when communicating or meeting anyone you reconnect with. WeMetOnce does not conduct a background check or guarantee identity, authenticity, safety, compatibility or future behavior of members.

15. Changes and Termination

We may change features or these Terms when reasonably necessary. We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations, security concerns, fraud or legal requirements. Where required, we will provide applicable notice or appeal mechanisms.

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be submitted through our Contact page.
